Advocating for GREEN Zones in Commerce with EYCEJ

East Yard Communties leaders & allies will be testyfing before the City of Commerce City Council in support of Green Zones. For several years now, East Yard Communities and the Environmental Justice Task Force of the City of Commerce have been pushing for a policy that would protect residents from any future harmful industries from coming into their neighborhoods. More recently, they have also been pushing for a policy that promises to reinvigorate the City’s economic stability, by advocating that Green Industries become the new business residents of Commerce.

The goal is to transform the currently impacted residential areas of Commerce into vibrant and healthy places for families to live and green industries to thrive.

Join us on TUESDAY JUNE 21, 2011 at 6:30PM (please arrive by 7:15PM) at the City Council Chambers on 2535 Commerce Way in the City of Commerce, CA 90040 and speak in support of the GREEN ZONES Working Group.
