California’s Extreme Water Makeover

Many people think of the “Big One” as an earthquake, but one of California’s most fragile fault lines is its main water delivery system that moves water from Northern California to parts of the Central Valley, the Bay area and Southern California. We can’t always pump all the water we need because of court‐mandated restrictions to protect habitat. One major earthquake or heavy storm could cause levees along the delivery system to break and contaminate water supplies or cut the delivery of water to many parts of California. For decades, blueprints have been drafted, redrafted and debated over and over again on how to fix California’s lifeline.

The O.C. Water Summit is presented by the Orange County Water District, Municipal Water District of Orange County and Disneyland Resort with Title Sponsor Siemens Water Technologies. The general public is invited to join business professionals; international, national and state water stakeholders; elected officials; environmentalists; scientists; and community leaders to design the blueprint for California’s extreme water makeover.

The fee to attend the O.C. Water Summit is $115 for registration by May 13; $130 after May 13, and includes breakfast, lunch, parking and Summit materials. Online registration is at www.ocwatersummit.com. Last year’s event sold out!
