Green Jobs & Career Fair
Please accept my invitation to participate in our World Environment Day activities, which are slated to take place on Sunday, June 5th at the Los Angeles State
Historic Park. Join us in this effort to reach out to the Latino demographic regarding green possibilities, in this regard, a green career. Sponsored by the William C. Velasquez Institute, World Environment Day has grown to become one of the main vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action. William C. Velasquez Institute is the leading national Latino public policy and research entity that has dedicated at least ten years to the revitalization of the Los Angeles River and the development of the 30-acre Los Angeles State Historic Park (formerly Cornfield rail yard) in Dog Town and the 50-acre Parque del Rio de Los Angeles (formerly known as the Taylor rail yard) in Cypress Park. Our World Environment Day activities will be a free community event for the entire family. It will consist of a Green Careers & Jobs Fair, and a Benefit Concert for the Los Angeles River & Rio
Magdalena in Mexico City. With extensive promotion in place, we are expecting hundreds in attendance.
